Conditional Option Display - Product Options

The Conditional Option Display feature allows you to show or hide product options based on customer selections.

Instead of displaying all options at once, you can create a dynamic and user-friendly experience by showing only relevant fields when needed. This helps reduce confusion and makes the customization process smoother for customers.

Advanced conditional logic works by creating base options, adding dependent options, linking them together, setting conditions based on customer selection, and saving the setup to control how options are displayed dynamically.

Live Example:

Try this feature on our demo store: 👉 View Demo Product Password:- 1

  • If a customer selects “Balloons” in the decoration option, you can display “Balloon Colors” as a dependent option.
  • In a T-shirt setup:
    • If a customer selects “Add Custom Text = Yes”, then show the Text Input Field
    • If a customer selects “Add Logo = Yes”, then show the Image Upload option
    • If a customer selects “Print Type = Premium”, then show Additional Pricing or Design & Printing Options

This guideline helps you to understand and implement advanced conditional logic effectively, so you can create a more dynamic and user-friendly product customization experience.

Steps:

  1. Select Product: Go to Shopify Admin → Product Options Personalizer app → Select Product → Click Edit

  1. Create Base Option : Create a base option by clicking on the ‘Add’ button. Then select an element such as a dropdown, checkbox, or button, and add a label.

  1. Create Option Set : Click Create Option Set → Enter name → Add option labels (e.g., Balloons, Confetti, Party Hats) → Set pricing (optional) → Save

  1. Create Dependent Option : Click Add again → Choose element (Dropdown / Text Field / Image Upload) → Enter label

Note: These options will be displayed based on your conditional logic setup.

  1. Create option Set :- Click on Create Option Set → Enter the Option Set Name → Add Option Labels (e.g., Balloons, Confetti, Party Hats) → Set pricing (if required) → Click Create Option Set to save

Note :- These options will be displayed when the base option is selected, based on your conditional logic setup.

  1. Apply Conditional Logic : In the Conditions section, pick the parent field (e.g., *Decoration), choose a condition type (equals / contains / not equals), select the value (e.g., Balloons), then click "+ Add Condition ** and save.

The option set will be displayed only when the defined condition is met. For example, if the customer selects Balloons in the Decoration option, the related option set (such as Balloon Colors) will appear.

Verify on Storefront :- Go to your front store → Open the selected product page → Test the options by selecting different values → Ensure the conditional logic is working as expected
