Display Age Verification Popup on Specific Products and Collection Pages

This guide explains how to display the Age Verification popup only on specific product pages or collection pages instead of across the entire store. This allows you to restrict age-sensitive products while keeping the rest of the store accessible.


Use Cases

You may want to enable the Age Verification pop-up only when:

  • Selling age-restricted products (e.g., alcohol, tobacco, adult products)
  • Restricting access to specific collections
  • Avoiding unnecessary pop-ups on non-restricted products


Prerequisites

Before proceeding, please ensure:

  • The Age Verification app is installed and enabled
  • You have admin access to your Shopify store
  • The relevant products or collections are already created


Steps to Display Age Verification on Specific Products:



  1. Shopify Admin → Apps → SB: Age Verification → Rules → Popup Visibility → Select “Specific Pages” → Choose Page Type (Page URL / Product / Collection) → Enter details → Click Add → Save & test in an incognito window



Product page:


  1. Select Product Page from the dropdown, then search and choose the required product from your store list. Click Add to apply the rule.




  1. Search and select the product from your store → Click Add → Click Save to apply the changes.






Frontend Test: Go to the storefront and open the product that you have added in the app. Verify whether the Age Verification popup appears correctly.



Collaction Page:


  1. Select Specific Pages → choose Collection Page → search and select the required collection → Click Add → Click Save to apply the changes.







Frontend Test: Go to the storefront → open the collection added in the app → verify that the Age Verification popup appears correctly.




Testing Checklist / Test Cases

  • Open the selected product or collection page in an incognito/private window and confirm the Age Verification popup appears.
  • Visit a non-selected product or collection to ensure the popup does not appear there.
  • Complete the age verification and refresh the page to confirm the popup does not reappear (based on cookie/session settings).
  • Clear browser cache or cookies and reload the page to verify the popup appears again.
  • Test on both desktop and mobile devices for consistent behavior
