It is ideal for age-restricted products like alcohol, tobacco, smoking, and vape items.

You can use ready-made 18+ or 21+ templates or customize the popup to match your brand, language, and age limits. It supports both Yes/No and Date of Birth (DOB) verification, with an easy no-code setup.

The app allows country-wise age validation and can be displayed on specific pages, cart, checkout (Shopify Plus), or across the entire store. You can also show an age verified badge on the order page.

Fully customizable, mobile-friendly, and interactive, it ensures a smooth user experience while keeping your store secure and compliant.

This guide helps you easily set up and configure the Age Verification Popup for your Shopify store.

Steps:-

1. I**nstall App **:- Go to the Shopify Store and search for the app name (Smart Age Verification Popup). Click to install

2. Enable App :- After installing the app, go to your Shopify Admin → Click on SB: Age Verification from the Apps section → In the Setup Guide, click Enable Theme Block → This will redirect you to Online Store → Themes → Customize → App Embeds to activate the popup → Click Save once enabled.

3. Edit Theme :- Click to online store → Click to themes click to edit theme

4. Toggle the Swich On :- Go to Shopify Admin → Online Store → Themes → Customize → App Embeds (icon) → Enable SB Age Verification (toggle ON) → Click Save (top right)

5. **Enter Minimum Age **:- Enter the age (e.g., 18) in the Minimum age field → Click “Change age criteria” → Click Save

6. Select Template : Go to Select a template → Click “Select template” → Choose your preferred popup design → Apply it → Click Save

7. Configure Popup Template & Verification Settings : Go to Pop Up Settings → General → Enter the Minimum Age (e.g., 18) → Set Cookie Life-time (in days) to control how long the age verification remains valid → Select Verification Method (Yes/No buttons, Year of Birth, or Date of Birth) → Enter the Under-Age Message to display when users do not meet the age requirement → Click Save to apply the changes.e

8. Personalize the Pop-up : Go to Personalization tab → Select any template → Scroll to Logo & Background → Click Add File to upload your logo → Click Upload New or Select Existing to add a background image → Scroll to Text Style to change the title color, subtitle color, and popup background color → Scroll to Button Style to customize the Yes/No button text, labels, text color, and button background color → Click Save.

• Logo & Background : Click Add File to upload your store logo → Click Upload New to upload a background image from your device or Select Existing to choose from your Shopify media library. And check the Preview

•  Content : **Enter your popup **Title (e.g. "Are You 18 Or Older?") → Add a Subtitle (e.g. "We provide services to adult of legal age") → Select a Popup Animation from the dropdown — choose from None, Animation 1, Animation 2, Animation 3, or Animation 4 → You can preview each animation in the Preview section on the right before finalizing.

• Button & Text Personalization : ** You can edit the **Yes/No button text and labels by entering your preferred titles → You can also change the color of the Yes and No buttons by selecting a new color under Button Style → Under Text Style, you can change the Title and Subtitle text colors and the Popup background color.

9. Set Popup Visibility Rules :  Go to Rules → Choose All Pages (to show popup everywhere) or Specific Pages → Select page type (Page URL / Product Page / Collection Page) → Enter the URL → Click Add → (Optional) Add multiple rules as needed → Click Save

10. *Configure Checkout Verification : **Go to Checkout Verification section in the app settings → Enable *Verify on Cart Page to show the age verification popup on the cart page before checkout → Enable Verify on Checkout Page (Shopify Plus Only) if you are using Shopify Plus to display verification on the checkout page.

11. Configure Location-Specific Age Rules: Go to Location-Specific Age Rules → Select All country to apply the same age rule worldwide OR Select Specific country to apply rules only to selected countries → Choose countries from the list → Enter Minimum Age for those countries → Click Save to apply the changes.

11. Configure Multi-Language Translation: Go to Translations → Click Refresh from Shopify to sync your store languages → Click + Add Translation to add a new language → Enter translated text for each field (Age Verification, Verify Your Age, messages, etc.) → Click Save to apply the translations.

12. Save & Verify on Storefront: After completing all configurations → Click Save on each settings section → Open your storefront in a new tab → Verify that the Age Verification Popup appears correctly based on your configured settings.
