This guide explains how to set up and manage the app effectively.

The app follows a component-based structure, designed to minimize admin effort and save setup time. You can create lens components once and reuse them across multiple flows instead of configuring the same options repeatedly.

  • Lens Flows can be excluded from specific Prescription Flows when not required
  • Changes made in one place automatically reflect everywhere

This flexible approach helps you manage complex lens configurations efficiently while keeping your store setup clean and scalable.




Installation


  1. Install the App: **Visit the SB Prescription Eye Lens listing on the Shopify app store and click Install button.



  1. Plan Selection: Choose the plan that best fits your requirements.



  1. Enable Theme Block: Open the app from your Shopify admin panel.➜ Click on SB Prescription Eye Lens ➜ Click on the Enable Theme Block Button.


  1. Switch On: On the left side, Find our app in the list ➜Toggle the switch ON ➜ Click "Save" at the top right.



  1. Activate App: Click On Enable Button to activate the App.


  1. Create Rule: Click on the Create Rule section ➜ Click on Create Button.


  1. Lens Flows (Recommended First Step):  Lens Flows allow you to create reusable option groups (e.g. Lens Type, Coatings, Materials, Tints) that can be used across multiple prescription flows.

Go to Lens Flows → Add Lens Flow→ Enter Name (Lens Materials / Coatings / Tints – internal use)→ Add a short Description→ Select Display Style (recommended: Cards – auto-advance)→ Enable Required (if selection is mandatory) → Add options using:→(Add-on Products (With Price),Lens Options (No Price), Create New Product→ Click Browse Products

→ Save Lens Flow ✅






  1. Prescription Flows: Prescription Flows control how customers enter prescription details on the product page. Prescription Flow defines the customer prescription journey. It decides which RX fields, lens options, and steps customers will see while adding prescription details.

Go to Prescription Flows → Add Prescription Flow → Select Prescription Type (Single Vision, Progressive, Bifocal, etc.) → Enter Flow Name (Internal identification)→ Add Description (Customer-facing explanation)→ Upload Flow Image (Optional – helps customers understand the option)→ Click Save Flow→ Go to Configure Steps to attach Lens Flows and set RX fields→ Add Tooltip (Optional – helps customers understand this prescription option better)

Prescription Flows can be linked to multiple products using Product Rules.






  1. Product Rules: Product Rules decide which products use which Prescription Flows.

Go to Product Rules → Add Product Rule

Basic Information Tab→ Enter Rule Name (e.g. Premium Collection, Budget Line) Assign Flows Tab → Select required Prescription Flows customers can choose from

Assign Products Tab → Click Add / Edit Products → Select products where this rule should apply → Click Save Product Rule

Product Rules allow you to control which prescription options are available for specific products or collections.



Front Store Experience


  1. Select Lens :  Go to the storefront and click the Select Lens button to begin the prescription selection process.



  1. Prescription Flow : After clicking the Add Prescription button, the Prescription Flow will appear, guiding customers through the steps to select lens options and enter or upload their prescription details.



  1. Lens Flow : Selecting a prescription option will display the corresponding lens customization options (e.g., thickness, colors, etc.).




  1. Add Prescription Details → After completing all lens selections, choose how you would like to provide the prescription → Select one of the available options (Upload Prescription, Manual Entry, Send Later via Email, or Use Saved Prescription) → Enter or upload the required details → Continue to proceed to cart.



  1. Review Prescription Details → Carefully review your selected prescription values and product details → Click Add to Cart to proceed → Complete the checkout process to place your order.




  1. Order Identification → After placing the order, you can easily identify prescription-based orders in the Shopify Admin → Orders that include prescription details will be marked with a Prescription tag → This helps you quickly filter and manage prescription orders.





By following this setup structure, you can create a scalable, efficient, and user-friendly prescription workflow that improves order accuracy and customer satisfaction.
