Setup Front & Back Images for Variant Colors in Shopify to display on customization products.

Introduction

Learn how to set up variant color images for the front and back of product variants while configuring product images in Shopify. By selecting a product variant color option from the app backend for custom products, you can easily customize the front and back images. Follow the steps below to set it up.

Steps:

1 : Open the Product in Shopify Backend
Log in to your Shopify admin.
Navigate to Products and select the product you want to edit.
2 : Choose the Product Images
Scroll to the Media section and select the images for the product.
Ensure that both front and back images are uploaded.


3 : Set Image Alt Text for Variant Colors
If you're customizing a red T-shirt with designs on both sides, update the alt text as follows:

Front image: Red-front

Back image: Red-back
Use the variant color and side separated by a hyphen.




Choose the Product Variant Color Option
Go to the app backend → Navigate to Personalization Product tab.
Create a new rule by clicking Add Rule or edit an existing rule.


In the Product Color Option Setting, choose the variant color option.
Save the settings.


Final Result
Once done, your product images will be correctly mapped based on variant selection and display accordingly.
